Job Requirements:

Will be responsible for driving the mobile vehicles to and from mobile blood drives and the safety of all passengers.  Will load/unload supplies and equipment before and after the drive, seal units of blood, and prepare units of blood for transportation and storage and also perform donor history & physical exams as required in accordance with SOP.

Will provide work direction and guidance to team members, assist with training, complete reports and review BDRs, evaluate QA procedures, and provide feedback.

Responsible for developing and implementing technical training programs for components and distribution staff for Heartland Blood Centers. Consistent with FDA regulations, oversees the basic training, re-training, continuing education and competency of employees assigned to Hospital Services at the Aurora, Tinley Park and Chicago facilities.  Under the supervision of the Director, is responsible for providing operating support to all phases of Hospital Services, from product preparation and storage, inventory management, and product labeling up to actual distribution of products to member hospitals with a focus on achieving departmental results.  Maintains compliance with cGMPs by performance and documentation required by SOPs. Provides technical assistance to staff and management as needed to ensure paperwork is correctly completed and to ensure the highest level of customer service possible with internal and external customers. 

Special Requirements:

(Licenses, degrees held, related experience): MLT (ASCP), MT (ASCP) with work related experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Science (or related field) plus experience in a Blood Center work environment.   Experience in training or education preferred.   Must have working knowledge of quality assurance principles, as well as an understanding of component therapy and product indications.  Must possess a strong understanding of policy, protocol, and regulations.  Must meet IEMA/NRC criteria for ‘trustworthy and reliable’ in order to operate the Blood Irradiator. Must meet current Heartland Blood Centers MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) criteria.   Ability to produce reports, documentation, and communications using employer provided resources. Ability to balance resources effectively to optimize value and reduce costs. Performs all advanced testing procedures on Immunohematology work including, antigen and, special donor typings.  Resolves discrepancies per Immunohematology SOPs.  Works closely with the Immunohematology Supervisor in the maintenance of the Rare Unit Frozen Inventory to ensure an adequate supply for patients. Prepares special products such as freezing of RBC, deglycerolization of frozen RBC, washed platelets and washing of RBC. Offers input and technical advice to member hospitals based on individual level of Immunohematology experience and knowledge.  Performs searches for antigen screened units, performs testing and cross matching, and distributes to hospitals upon request. Also performs other tasks as required. Call rotation included. 

Special Requirements:

(Licenses, degrees held, related experience): MLT or MT (ASCP certified) and one year related specialized experience.  Candidates must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing and may need to provide college transcripts for review. 

Skills:  Capable of utilizing laboratory equipment for advanced and/or highly specialized testing with a level of understanding that is demonstrated by experience and/or theoretical knowledge gained by credentials and immuno specialization. Under the direction of the CTTM Chief Information Officer and in cooperation with the CTTM and affiliate IS management teams, the CTTM Director of Enterprise Architecture and Security Officer is responsible for the standardized, reliable, secure, cost effective and compliant operations of IS systems and infrastructure for CTTM and its affiliates.  This responsibility includes data center/servers, networks, databases, storage networks, telephone and video conferencing, as well as desktop support and strategy, including consideration of purchased services and outsourcing.  We will rely on you to work with the CTTM privacy officer in ensuring CTTM’s security plan is aligned with healthcare privacy requirements, as well as, best IS practice.  This role will develop technology and security roadmaps and standards for the CTTM organization to support business strategy, and investigate/recommend new technologies to improve operations and/or provide strategic differentiation.  Responsibilities also include ensuring that daily operations of the service desk(s) and data center are reliable and customer/business focused, using monitoring tool and metrics to facilitate any corrective and preventative actions, as well as continuous improvement.

They will have a high level of broad business knowledge necessary to recommend strategies to meet growth goals and strengthen brand position. Demonstrated critical thinking, deductive reasoning, problem solving, and analytical skills including the ability to interpret and trend data is key.  In addition to the ability to manage remote teams, candidates must have proven skills in management of significant organizational change, which include leading people not reporting to this position to achieve organizational objectives. 

Candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive and proven experience and responsibility in designing and maintaining IT infrastructure roadmaps and architecture (network, data center, telephony, desktop) to meet strategic and critical operational business needs weighing quantitative and qualitative ROI.  A minimum of 5 years working in a regulated and/or  HIPAA compliant environment strongly preferred.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in working across multiple IT infrastructures and cultures, and bringing together a cohesive plan and team.  Experience in assessing, developing, and executing business continuity and systems security roadmaps and ROI is a must.  Experience in addressing and assessing new technologies and applying them to business need and IS roadmap/strategy and/or facilitating others in doing the same is needed.  Also required is demonstrated experience in front line support of internal and external customers and providing service excellence and/or oversight of a sophisticated service desk operations.  The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field; advanced business degree preferred.  ITIL Foundation certification required.  CISM or related security certification strongly preferred, as is PMP certification.
