Regular and predictable attendance is required. Count Blood Donation records received from centers and drives. Verify number of Blood Donation Record count to the mobile review sheet. Verify number of Blood Donation Records on spreadsheets. Entry of donor records into the Life Trak software according to the procedures written in the Data Entry Standard Operating Procedure. File entered Blood Donation Records in the proper file. Place One and Two grade Donors on hold, per SOP, pending review by QA department for possible Duplicate Donor. Complete all necessary competencies by their due date.

Responsible for confidential and proper handling of correspondence, reports, document control and projects as assigned, including administrative tasks such as: formatting, preparing management and training materials, preparing and distributing interdepartmental correspondence, minutes for interdepartmental meetings, updating handbooks, and project assistance.  Will prepare and process samples to be shipped to testing facilities following biohazard regulations.  Will assist with inventory tracking and management, housekeeping duties and maintenance of DI water system as directed by management.

Special Requirements:

(Licenses, degrees held, related experience): An Associates or BS degree in a science related field is required or equivalent experience. MLT or MT certification preferred. At least one year of laboratory experience preferred. Must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing. Must possess good laboratory/cGMP skills, the ability to communicate with staff and perform as a team player. Immunohematology Technologist

Job Requirements:

Performs all advanced testing procedures on Immunohematology work including, antigen and, special donor typings.  Resolves discrepancies per Immunohematology SOPs.  Works closely with the Immunohematology Supervisor in the maintenance of the Rare Unit Frozen Inventory to ensure an adequate supply for patients. Prepares special products such as freezing of RBC, deglycerolization of frozen RBC, washed platelets and washing of RBC. Offers input and technical advice to member hospitals based on individual level of Immunohematology experience and knowledge.  Performs searches for antigen screened units, performs testing and cross matching, and distributes to hospitals upon request. Also performs other tasks as required. Call rotation included. 

Special Requirements:

(Licenses, degrees held, related experience): MLT or MT (ASCP certified) and one year related specialized experience.  Candidates must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing and may need to provide college transcripts for review. 

Skills:  Capable of utilizing laboratory equipment for advanced and/or highly specialized testing with a level of understanding that is demonstrated by experience and/or theoretical knowledge gained by credentials and immuno specialization. Has an overall knowledge of work performed in a blood bank laboratory.  Requires excellent customer service skills, ability to communicate with staff and other blood bank employees, must be team-oriented, and must possess teaching/training skills.
