2011 Four Seasons Club FAQ’s 

Every year, the need for blood donations grows as new treatments and surgeries become available.  Likewise, blood centers lose donors every year as they become medically ineligible, travel to restricted areas, move out of the area, or pass away.  For this reason, new and healthy blood donors are needed in order to assure a safe and adequate supply of blood for patients in need.  Having given blood once before, we are asking you to consider giving blood at least four times per year.  Whole blood donors can safely give blood every 8 weeks or 6 times per year!

Q:  How does the club work?

All you have to do is complete at least FOUR successful blood donations in the calendar year!  Our new Club allows you to give your blood donations anytime, anywhere, as long as the four successful donations are made at a Heartland Blood Center location within the calendar year.  So if you want to give at mobile blood drives and any of our fixed site locations to achieve this goal – feel free to mix it up for your convenience!

Q: What are the rewards and when do I get them?

When you have completed your third successful blood donation (deferrals are not counted) you will receive an email alert notifying you that you can redeem your $10.00 Walmart, Shell Gas or Home Depot Gift Card online.  After your fourth successful donation, you will be alerted to redeem your Premium Cotton Pajama Pants online.  Once you have redeemed your gifts online, they will be sent to you via USPS within 4-6 weeks to the address you specify.  Four Seasons Club gifts will no longer be distributed at our center and mobile locations.  Please note, once you pledge into the Four Seasons Club, we will automatically turn back the clock and count all of your donations made from January 1^st  forward – so don’t worry – donations made earlier this year will count!  Just be sure to allow yourself enough time to get your four donations in during the calendar year!

Q:  What if I don’t have access to a computer? 

No problem.  Please call us at 630-301-6183 and we will be happy to assist you! 

Q.  What if I want to donate more than four times a year?

 That’s great!  We thank you for your willingness to share your good health with others less fortunate.  If you would like all your donations to be whole blood donations, only 4 will count towards the Four Seasons Club rewards.  However, depending on the timing of your blood donations, Heartland hosts many promotional events in which special thank you gifts are given to our blood donors.  Check our website frequently so that you don’t miss these opportunities!  Another option for those who wish to give more than four times per calendar is to join our LifeSavers Platelet Club.  For more information on this Club, click here. 

Q:  How do automated donations count in this program?

Every blood donor is welcome to participate in this program.  Depending on how often you wish donate, apheresis donors can either be members of the Four Seasons Club or, if they wish to give more than four times can consider joining the LifeSavers Platelet Club.  For more information on this Club, click here.  If you are Double Red Cell donor, you will need to give at least two Double Red Cell donations per calendar year in order to be eligible for Four Seasons Club rewards. 

Q: What do I do if I don’t know my Donor ID?

Your Donor ID is printed on your donor card that was mailed to you when you donated blood with us for the very first time.  If you have misplaced your card, you may request another the next time you donate blood.  You can retrieve your Donor ID by clicking here!  You may also email us at clubrewards@heartlandbc.org or call the help desk at 630-301-6183 to ask us to look up your Donor ID.
